A two-month voyage around the Australian Coast is being halted in the wake of the fatal incident of an older lady who was left behind by the ship on a distant coastal location.

The passenger had been walking on the tropical location with other travelers from the cruise ship, but broke off from the group for a rest. The liner sailed away leaving her and returned several hours later after the crew discovered the lady was missing.

A major hunt located her remains the next day.

Authorities are examining the event, together with investigators and the medical examiner.

The CEO of the cruise operator stated that guests and crew on the Coral Adventurer were notified that the continuation of the cruise had been called off due to the "tragic passing and previous mechanical issues".
