Approximately 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast found themselves lacking electricity on Monday morning after powerful weather events swept through the area, bringing strong winds hitting 109km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Broad Impact
Locals observed giant hailstones as large as 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that various areas across the state had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair power throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews deployed to address the widespread outages.

Simultaneously, around one thousand households in Victoria also experienced power outages after Melbourne experienced its most precipitation in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services responded to over five hundred requests for assistance across the area, primarily for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and water accumulation.

- Wyndham area - nearly 180 calls for assistance
At the height on the previous day, more than twenty-eight thousand power users in the state were experiencing outages.
Meteorological Predictions
Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along significant areas of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
The following day was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both areas.

Health officials cautioned that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the current weather patterns.
